Port-city link program stems from the importance of bringing information about what is happening in the harbor with other sectors of the community in addition to the port. This will be made to work in coordination with major providers and assignees representing each of the productive chains, emphasizing the generated economic and social benefits.

Furthermore it is intended to involve the Municipal Town Council with the aim of creating a culture in the port community to jointly resolve situations that benefit the city and the port environment.

Today it is estimated that the port generates about 3 thousand 500 hundred direct jobs and part of its contribution is reflected in the combined works with the City and State.   Events and programs for the community are being promoted as part of this link,   such as Environmental Work, know your port, tours thru the port facilities and port presentations to different agencies and schools.
